Dear Congressman Schulze:
Thank you for your let.ter dated April 5,1979 regarding the accident at the Three,iile Island nuclear power plant.
At present the Co=11ssion and I;RC Staff are still occupied with the many activities required to assure that the Three clile Island Unit 2 is brought to a safe shutdown.
Decause of this, we are unable to answer your specific questions at this tir.:e.
We will provide a complete response to your inquiry as soon as we are able.
In the meantine, I am enclosing for your information copies of i!RC press releases and preliminary notifications, which have been issued to date. We will continue to provide you with updated information.

Dear Mr. Chairman:
In light of the recent events at the Three Mi].e Island Nuclear plant in Harrisburg, I have received several inquiries from my constituents who are con-corned about the construction of a similar plant in Limerick, Pennsylvania.
My questions are as follows:
e What effect will the Three Mile Island
/
yh incident have on nuclear plants presently under con-g struction, in particular the one at Limerick?
e Will the design of the Limerick plant be g
reevaluated and/or modified?
e Will the Commission be establishing new safety criteria for plants presently under construc-Mh tion; and, if so, what changes do you contemplate?
I would appreciate a reply as soon as possible t o-these very important questions, so t-h a t I may adequately respond to the inquiries of my constituents.
