CASE HISTORIES OF RADIOGRAPHY EVENTS Description of Circunstances:
Durina and subseauent to recional neetinas with industrial radiooraphers in 1977-73, discussions indicated that the review of case histories of radiography incidents was a valuable training tool.
Subseauently, Appendix A of 10 CFR Part 34 was amended (March 3,1980) to include case histories as a required training sunject.
You have recently been sent a connilation of case histories concerning overexposures, unnecessary exposures and other unusual events that have occurred during the conduct of radiography operations.
That document is intended to provide subject material for Item V, Appencix A,10 CFR Part 34.
Notice to Radiograpnv Licensees Radiography licensees are required by 10 CFR Part 34.31 (a)(1), which references Appendix A, to include a review of case histories of radiography accidents as part of the training program for radiographers.
iiRC licensees authorized to use byproduct material pursuant to 10 CFR Part 34 should include the case history document in their radiographer trainino program as required subject matter.
Additional copies can be obtained from the NRC/GPO Sales Progran, USNRC, Washington, D.C. 20555, for $1.75 a copy.
For case in ordering you should reference the document as NUREG/BR-001, Vol.1.
