CASE HISTORIES OF RADICCRAPHY EVENTS Descrintion of Circumstances:
Curirg and subseauent to recional meetinos with industrial radiooraphers in 1977-73, discussions indicated that the review of case histories of radlography incidents was a valuable trainino tool. Subseauently, Appendix A of 10 CFR Part 34 was amended (March 3,1980) to include case histories as a required training subject.
You have recently been sent a ccnpilation or case histories concerning overexposures, unnecessary exposures and other unusuai events tnat have occurred during the conouct of radiography operations.
That document is intended to provide subject material for Itna V, Appendix A,10 CFR Part 34.
No_tice to Radiograpny Licensees Radiograohy licensees are required by 10 CFR Part 34.31 (a)(1), which references Appendix A, to include a review of case histories of radiography accidents as part of the training program for raciographers.
NRC licensees authorized to use byproduct oaterial purauant to 10 CFR Part 34 should iaclude the case history document in their radiographer trainina prograra as recuired subject ratter.
Additional copies can be obtained f rom the NRC/GPO Sales Progran, USNRC, Washington, D.C. 20555, for $1.75 a copy.
For ease in ordering you should reference the document as NUREG/CR-001, "ol.1.
