CASE HISTORIES OF RADIOGRAPHY EVENTS Description of Circunstances:
During and subsequent to regional meetings with industrial radiooraphers in 1977-73, discussions indicated that the review of case histories of radiography incidents was a valuable trainino tool.
Subseouently, Appendix A of 10 CFR Part 34 was amended (March 3,1980) to include case histories as a required training subject.
You have recently been sent a connilation of case histories concerning overexposures, unnecessary exposures and other unusual events that have occurred during the conduct of radiography cperations.
That document is intended to provide subject materi61 for Item V, Appendix A,10 CFR Part 34.
Notice to Radiogranhv Licensees Radicgraphy licensees are required by 10 CFR Part 34.31 (a)(1), which references Appendix A, to include a review of case histories of radiography accidents as part of the training program for radiographers.
URC licensee; auchorized to use ayproduct material pursuan: to 10 CFR Part 34 should include the case history document in their radiographer training prcgram as reouired subject matter.
Additional copies can be obtained frca the NRC/GPO Sales Progran, USNRC, Washington, D.C. 20555, for $1.75 a copy.
