CASE HISTORIES OF RADIOGRAPHY EVE!!TS Description of Circumstances:
Durina and subsecuent to reqional meetinas with industrial radiooraphers in 1977-73, discussions indicated that the review of case histories of radiograohv incidents was a valuable trainina tool.
Subseauently, Apoendix A of 10 CFR Part 34 was arended (March 3, 1980) to include case histories as a required training subject.
You have recently been sent a compilation of case histories concerning overexposures, unnecessary exposures and other unusual events that have occurred during the conduct of radiography operations.
That document is intended to provide subject naterial for Item V, Appendix A,10 CFR Part 34.
Notice to Radiography Licensees Radiography licensees are required by 10 CFR Part 34.31 (a)/1), which references Appendix A, to include a review of case histories of radiography accidents as part of the trainino program for radiographers.
NRC licensees authorized to use byproduct material pursuant to 10 CFR Part 34 should include the case history document in their radiographer trainino program as recuired subject matter.
Additional copies can be obtained from the ilRC/GPO Sales I rogran, USilRC, Washington, D.C. 20555, for $1.75 a copy.
For ease in ordering you should reference the document as NUREG/BR-001, Vol.1.
