CASE HISTORIES OF RADIOGRAPHY EVENTS Description of Circunstances:
Durinc and subteauent to recional neetinas with industrial radionraphers in 1977-73, discussions indicated that the review of case histories of radiocraphy incidents was a valuaDie trainina tool.
Subseauently, Arcendix A of 10 CFR Part 34 was amended (March 3,1980) to include case histories as a required training suDject.
You have recently been sent a concilatior of case histories concerning overexposures, unnecessary exposures and other unusual events that nave occurred during the conduct of rar:iography operations.
That document is intended to provide subject material for item V, Appendix A,10 CFR Part 34.
Notice to Radiography Licensees Radiocraphy lic2nsees are required by 10 CFR Part 34.31 (a)(1), which references Appendix A, to include a review of case histories of radiography accidents as part of the training progran for radicqraphers. NRC licensees authorized to use byproduct naterial pursuant to 10 CFR Part 34 should include the cas<: history document in their radicarapher trainino program as
'ouired subjer t matter.
Additional copies can be obtained from the NRC/GPO Sales Progran, USNRC, Washington, D.C. 20555, for $1.75 a copy.
For ease in ordering you should reference the document as NUREG/CR-001, Vol.1.
