CASE IIISTORIES OF RADIOGRAPIIY EVENTS Description of Circumstances:
During and subsequent to regional meetings with industrial radiographers in 1977-78, discussions indicated that the review of case histories of radiography incidents was a valuable training tool.
Subsequently, Appendix A of 10 CFR Part 34 was amended (March 3, 1980) to include case histories as a required training subject.
You have recently been sent compilation of case histories concerning overexposures, unnecessary a
exposures and other unusual erents that have occurred during the conduct of radiography operations.
That document is intended to provide subject materici for Item V, Appendix A, 10 CFR Part 34.
Notice to Radiography Licensees Radiography licensees are required by 10 CFR Part 34.31 (a)(1), which references Appendix A, to include a review of case histories.of radiography accidents as part of the training program for radiographers.
NRC licensees authorized to use byproduct material pursuant to 10 CFR Part 34 should include the case history document in their radiographer training program as required subject matter.
Additional copies can be obtained from the NRC/cPO Sales Program, USNRC, Washington, D.C. 20555, for $1.75 a copy.
For ease in ordering you should reference the document as NUREG/BR-001, Vol.
1.
