PROPOSED IMPOSITION OF CIVIL PENALTIES - $5,000 This to inform the Comaission that a Notice of Violation and Notice of Proposed Inposition of Civil Penalties in the amount of Five Thousand Dollars will be issued on er about February 15, 1980, to Boston Edison Company.
This action is based on an alleged item of noncompliance relating to the delivery of radioactive waste to the State of South Carolina without complying with all applicable NRC regulations pertaining to the shipment of radioactive materials.
A news release has been prepared and will be issued about the time the licensee receives the Nctices.
The Com:onwealth of P.assachusetts will be informed.
It should te n:ted that the licensee has not been specifically informed of the enforcement action.

NRC News Release February 19 The licensee has 20 days from the date of receipt of the Notice in which to respond.
