Subject:

' Arkansas Nuclear One-Unit 1 Docket No. 50-313 License No. DPR-51 Westinghouse Low Pressure Turbine (File: 0285)

Gentlemen:

By letter dated January 31, 1980, Arkansas Power and Light Company (AP&L) informed you of an inspection which was done on the #2 Low Pressure Turbine Rotor. Attached to our letter was a letter from Peter S. Zeimann of Westing-house to Tom Kilgore of AP&L. This letter stated that Westinghouse recom-mended the gross megawatt output of the turbine be limited to 782 MW, which limited reactor power to approximately 95%.

On February 15, 1980, Westinghouse informed us by way of a telecon and a hand-written memo that the latest set of data showed that we could proceed to 100%

reactor power. We informed your Mr. Guy Vissing of this on February 19, 1980, and were requested to follow up with a letter.

Very truly yours, hwd e. % 4 David C. Trimble Manager, Licensing DCT: MAS:nak .
