Dear Mr. Partlow:
As permitted by 10 CFR 70.51(c)(6), we request authorization to perform our Plant I HTCR fuel fabrication activities under LE(ID) limits higher than those prescribed in 10 CFR 70.51(e)(5). The requested authority is to be offective for one year beginning on October 1,1979.
Attached are the $3500 in fees required by 10 CFR 170.31(lA). The specific LE(ID) limit requested for the period is 1.4 Kg. of High Enriched uranium. gives the justification for our request.
We reques* that the information submitted in Enclosure 1 be withheld from public disclosure pursuant to 10 CFR 2.790(d)(1).
This letter represents our request for a ti=e extension and modification to our MPP-1 license condition 3.5, authorizing a higher than regulatory LE(ID) limit for General Atomic's high enriched uranium HTGR fuel fabrication oper-ations.
Please make the necessary license condition changes at your earliest conven-S IDI/.
