Request for Exemption from 10 CFR Part 70.58 (e) -
Dear Sir:
The Texas Instruments Incorporated HFIR Project (TI) requests exemption from 10 CFR Part 70.58 (e) as it relates to TI utilization of a correction factor (CF) for assigning SNM loadings to fuel plates.
The bases of this request are:
A.
The CF has minimal impact on a material balance period inventory difference (typically 0.021% of th'roughput relative to USURC authorized limits of error for inventory differences.
B.
The lack of cost / benefit in evaluating an analytical value (requiring high reliability) on a routine basis.
C.
The historical performance of uranium accountability at TI with the utilization of a CF.
As this request is deemed an Administrative Amendment as defined by 10 CFR Part 170.31, please find enclosed check number 254222 in the amount of 5150..
