ARYANSAS 2 CAELE SPREADING ROCM FIRE PROTECTION By letters dated November 23, 1970 Arkansas Power and Light Cor.:pany submitted the design descr;iption of the cable spreading mon water spray systen, which was listed as Iten 3.6 in the Arkansas-2 Fire Protection SER (NUREG-0223). We have reviewed this description and find that the p*oposed design for the water spray system will provide the protection we intended in our fire protection SER for ANO-2 (NUREG-0223) and is, therefore, acceptable.
Item 3.6 also requested the design description of the fire barrier to be providea in the one location where cables frca redundant safety divisions are in proximity to each other. This description has not yet been provided.
Please request the licensee to provide this infomation by March 1,1930.
Fire protection engineering assistance in this review of the water spray systen design was provided by DSS.
