Subject:
Follow-up Report and Correction IE-Bulletin No. 79-03, EF2-45807 In a previous letter to the NRC-I&E Region III (EF2-46920 of August 23, 1979) a commitment was made to submit a final or interim report within 120 days. On September 5, 1979 we were advised by Mr. Ed Lee of NRC Region III(
Reference:
F250-1435, H. Walker to W. Fahrner) that NRC is reevaluating the IEB-79-Oa and may issue a revised bulletin. Our planned UT examination was, therefore, postponed to await further directions.
On December 21, 1979, a telephone call was initiated with Mr. D. Danielson of the NRC - I&E Region III to assess the current status of the bulletin and to advise the NRC of our holding pattern. This letter is to docu-ment the above telephone call (T. Byrd/F, E. Gregor - D. Danielson).
In addition to the above, we also identified an error in our earlier reports (EF2-46920 and EF2-45807). The reports listed a total of 12 affected spool pieces. The correct number of piping spools affected is 40 (forty) of which 38 are safety-related. The error occurred due to a typographical omission of the word "thru."
All affected pieces had been identified but the counting was wrong.
