y General Electric Company f.

s iluclear Energy Programs Division 175 Curtner f. venue San Jose, California 95125 Dear Mr. Da vson-As we had discussed briefly during your visit of October 17, 1979, the staff finds it necessary to' request additional information relative to the availability of funds for decommissioning.

In Appendix 7 of the Consolidated Safety Analysis Report, you provide a Decommissioning Plan, which was originally submitted under separate cover in December of 1978. This Plan includes an estimate of the costs of implementing such a plan in 1978 dollars. What provisions has General Electric made or what basis does General Electric have for assurance that the necessary funds will be available when needed?

Additionally; provide the operating expenses for the Morris Facility on an annual basis for the years 1973--1978.

Sincerely, W
