Docket rio. STil 50-437 Gentlemen:
The Staff is pleased to inform the Board that the full ACRS will meet at the beginning of next month to consider the Applicant's proposed core ladle design for the captioned application.
In order to conduct as productive a discussion as possible of this important element of the F'iP desicn, the Staff anticipates the publication of the next supplement to the Safety Evaluation Report (SER) at the end of this month.
This supplement will cover only the Staff review of the proposed core ladle; it will serve as the basis for the discussion with the ACRS.
Of course, in addition to the core ladle design, there are many other outstanding review matters yet to be concluded.
These are listed in the attachment to the Staff's letter to the Board dated October 11, 1979.
There will be at least one further supplement to the SER published in the future in order to deal with the remaining items.
For the reasons explained in our letter to the Board of tiovember 30, 1979 (and the memorandum attached thereto), the Staff has not yet established a schedule for the publication of a future supplement (s) to deal with outstanding review matters other than the core ladle.
We will, however, continue to advise the Board on the 30th of each month with regard to the progress of the FilP review.
Sincerely, Stephen ti. Schinki Counsel for MC Staff 1728 155 cc:
