This refers to your application dated December 10, 1979, requesting approval of your Quality Assurance (QA) program as meeting the QA program require-ments of 10 CFR 571.51.

In connection with our review, we need the information identified in the enclosure to this letter. Please submit seven copies of your response to the enclosed request for additional information within 30 days following receipt of this letter.

Provide a statement that written procedures require training before engaging in QA functions.

Provide a statement that the Radiation Safety Officer shall assure that all shipping packages for radioactive material designed or fabricated after the effective date of the QA program are designed and manufactured under a QA

3.

Provide a statement that the Radiation Safety Officer shall insure that all QA functions are conducted in accordance with the latest applicable changes of documents related to the specific shipping package.

4.

Clarify whether the " Supervisor of Q.A.," referred to in part IV, is the same individual as the " Manager QA Program" shown in item I.

5.

Regarding records, provide statements that a) The records will be maintained in accordance with written procedures.

b) The records will be identified and retrievable.

c) A list of the records and their storage location will be maintained by the Radiation Safety Officer.

6.

Provide a statement that a written check list will be used for each audit.
