000H1 NUMBER ' c.
P200. & UTIL EAC. f6. N Gk30j November 7, 1979 U. S. Nuclem r Regulatory Commission Washington, D.C.
23555 Gentlemen:
We are asking that the NRC investigate the safety of the Point Beach steam Tube generator leaks.
The plant is now closed for refueling, and we are concerned with the returning of the Point Beach I reactor to service in light of the problems the plant is experiencing.
The People of this ar3a are concerned and we would appreciate having a public meeting held by the NRC in the Two Rivers area inforsing the public of the NRC findings and answering questions the people may pose about the situation..
The Wisconsin Public Service Coanission is investigating the economics of the tube degredation at the Point Beach plant, but we feel the safety aspects should be handled expeditiously by the NRC durinE the current refueling period.
Again, I repeat, we are concerned.
