Dear Mr. Morris:

At scme time during the past several weeks we were informed that the AEC had received a ec=unication from one, Mr. Willia 2n 3. Whittock. Engineer, of 1810 Market Street, Camp Hill, Fenna., expressing his concern over the possible effects of the construction of the proposed Three Mile Island Nuclear Generating Station on the flood plain of the Susquehanna River and further consequential effects upon property which he owns en the west side of the river.

This is to advise that on January 22, 1968 we met with Mr. ?Tnittcck for discussion of his concerns and that, from all indications, the results of Our meeting with him indicate that his fears have been alleviated. Accompanying Mr. ?Tnittock at this meeting were his wife and seven other parties who have property interests in the vicinity of Three Mile Island, and likewise it is cur cpinion that all of the questions raised by them have been satisfactorily answered.

Several of the Whittock grcup requested further infomation concerning the constraction of the plant, which has now been cent to them.

I was personall" not able to be present at the afore-J mentioned discuccicn, but was represented by Mr. Frederic Ccx, then 7 ice President (now President, effective February 1, 1968).

A copy of Mr. Cox's confirming letter to Mr. Whittack is attached for your information.

T date we have not received a copy of Mr. Whittack's respence to the AEC, as requested in Mr. Ccx's letter.

We trust that these efforts will have proved fraitful in el4 inating Mr. Whittoek's ccncerns.

Very truly ycurc, r ]

Dear Mr. Whittock:

I was pleased that our engineers were able to give you and the others who met with us yesterday all of the information that you requested. We will send to everycne the small map of Three Mile Island that shows the proposed Nuclear Power S tation.

As you left, you told me that you were satisfied that the construction of our station would not increase the water level during flood conditions and that you would write the Atomic Energy Cc= mission to this effect. Would you please send me a copy of your letter for our records?

Should you or anyone you know have any further questions, please contact us and we will do our best to answer them.

Sincerely yours, ab
