Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
In m'/ letter to you dated Januar'; 5, 1973 I provided a proposed schedule for completing corrective action to resolve the Limitorque valve operator problem for TMI Unit #1.
This letter will serve to provide you with an update of the Limitorque situation.
During our investigation to determine the number of valves containing Limitorque operators installed, or to be installed, on TMI Unit #1 we found that a total of 127 valves were suspect.
(See enclosed list).
This total is slightly higher than the number (115) s tated in our January 5,1973 let ter.
Thirty seven of the suspect operators are on B & W supplied valves.
Replacement torque switches for the 37 B & W valves were received at the site on 2/5/73.
Limitorque has suggested that the torque switches be replaced on the remainine 98 valves & Met-Ed concurs with the proposal.
The 90 replacement torque switches will be shipped to the site about 4/1/73.
