Dear Mr. Giambusso:
Your letter of November 20, 1972 requested that an analysis be performed to determine the consequences of fuel densification on the subject nuclear stations. The NSSS supplier (Babcock & Wilcox Corp.)
will submit, to the Cor=nission, and to Metropolitan Edison Company, a generic topical report concerning fuel densification the week of January 1, 1973.
However, a review of the application of the information contained in the B&W generic topical report to the subject nuclear stations by the applicant will require additional time beyond the 45 day response period suggested in your letter. Applicant will submit the necessary informa-tion upon completion of this review.
It is anticipated that the TMI Unit 1 material will be filed on February 5,1973, and the TMI Unit 2 material will be filed on March 5, 1973.
