IMPLICATICNS RE NUCLEAR POWER PIANT DESIGN Notice of Meeting
'Ihe ACRS M Hoc Subcomittee on the tree Mile Island, Unit 2 Accident -
Implications Re Nuclear Power Plant Design, will hold a meeting on July 26-27, 1979 in Room 1167, 1717 H St., NW, Washirgton, DC 20555.
In accordance with the procedures outlined in the Federal Register on October 4,1978, (43 FR 45926), oral or written statements may be presented by members of the public, recordings will be permitted only during those portions of the meeting when a transcript is being kept, and questions may be asked only by members of the Subcomittee, its consultants, and Staff. Persons desiring to make oral statements should notify the Designated Federal Employee as far in advance as practicable so that appropriate arrangements can be made to allow the necessary time during the meeting for such statements.
Se agenda for subject meeting shall be as follows:
Thursday, July 26 and Friday, July 27, 1979 8:30 a.m. until the conclusion of business each day.
%e Subcomittee may meet in Executive se ssion, with any of its consultants who may be present, to explore and exchange their prelimi-nary opinions regardire matters which should be considered during the meeting and to formulate a report and recommendation to the full Com-mittee.
At the conclusion of the Executive Session, the Subcomittee will discusss with representatives of the NRC Staff, the nuclear industry, 2224 002 7910170g5g
. various utilities, and tneir consultants, state and local officials, and other interested persons, the implications of the 'Ihree Mile Island, Unit 2 Accident.
In addition, it may be necessary for the Subcommittee to hold one or
- ore closed sessions for the purpose of exploring matters involving pro-prietary information.
I have determined, in accordance with Subsection 10(d) of Public Law 92-463, that, should such sessions be required, it is necessary to close these sessions to protect proprietary information (5 U.S.C. 552b(c) (4)).
Further information regardire topics to be discussed, whether the meeting has been cancelled or rescheduled, the Chairman's ruling on reques for the opportunity to present oral statements and the time allotted therefor can be obtained by a prenaid telephone call to the Designated Federal Em for this meeting, Mr. Richard K. Major, (telephone 202/634-1414) between 8:15 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., EDr.
