Gentlemen:
Enclosed is IE Bulletin No. 79-07 on seismic stress analysis of safety-related piping. This Bulletin requires, among ether thines, that all licensees identify the pipe stress analysis computer codes used for safety-related piping in their facilities which utilized an incorrect algebraic summation of seismic loads.
Bulletin No. 79-07 was sent to Portland General Electric Company, Licensee in the referenced proceeding, on April 14, 1979. The Licensee's response to the Bulletin, wnich indicat2n that,ipe stress computer codes utilizing alge-braic summation methods were not ti ed for safety-related piping at Trojan, is attached.
