Inter-Office Memorandum Ca e May 14, 1979 k e IService Suo+r Part 30 License To IIi6',3 Locaton Waste Management Three Mile Island In response to your question of May 10, 1979, I've had several people check on the possession of a need for a Part 30 license for either EPICOR or CAP-GL'S to operate. waste processing systems at TMI.
These sources independently determined that neither have a license or need a license to process waste with activity removal.
Their reasoning is that CAP-GUN is operating under Met-Ed direction and at no times has possession of the activity Since Part 30 only applies to " possession and use" and not " implementation or manipulation of waste systers", there is no seen need for ther to have a Part 30 license.
I was also advised that EFICCF has done similar work for Met-Ed last year and didn't have a license for doing so at that time.
If you have any questions about this position, please let ce know.
Thanks.
