Bis teeting notice is being published on an emergency basis (less warrants review than 15 days prior notice) because this incident to examine the current status of the plant and interim action taken to provide ade-quate prctection of the public health and safety.

Executive Session (Coen) - The Committee will hear and discuss the reports of me-ters of the ACRS and con-sultants who may be present recardire the current status of the "hree Mile Island Nuclear Station Unit 2 and actions taken or proo: sed to cooldown and secure the nuclear reactor.

2:30 P.M. - 5:30 P.M.:

Meetino with Representatives of the Nuclear Industry (Coen) - The Committee will hear reports and will discuss actions proposed with respect to nuclear stations which make use of Babcock and Wilcox Company nuclear steam supply systems in-resporse to NRC/IE Bulletin 79-05A.

5:30 P.M. - 7:30 P.M.: Meeting with NRC Staff (Ocen) - The Com-mittee will hear reports and hold discussions with :nembers of the NRC Staff regarding the status of the Bree Mile Island Nuclear Station Unit 2 and interim actions taken or planned to adequately protect the public health and safety.

In accordance with these procedures, oral or written statements may be i

presented by =ecters of the public, recordirgs will be permitted 'only during those portions of the meeting ohen a transcript is being kept, and cuestions may be asked only by members of the Cc=aittee, its con-sultants, and Staff. Persons desiring to make oral statemen*a should notify the ACRS Executive Director as far in advance as practicable so that appropriate arrangements can be made to allow the necessary time during the meeting for such sta*anents.

I have determined in accordance with Subsection 10(d) P.L.92-463 tnat it is necessary to close portions of this meeting as noted above to protect Preprietary Information (5 U.S.C. 552 b(c) (4)).
