Dear Mr. Wilcox:

This is to confirm the discussicns regarding a request for data pertinent to the Three Mile Island (TMI) incident.

1.

A joint analysis is being conducted by elements of this organization, EPA and HEW to establish man-rem '.xposure for the current situation and for future use.

2.

Data needed to accomplish this study is not presently available through this organization. We request your assistance in obtaining needed data, as quickly as possible, without interfering in your manpower requirements necessary to respond to the current situation.

3.

The following is specific data required.

a.

Estimated number of peopie within a 10 mile radius of the iMI Plant each day (taking into consideration the number of personnel that depart and/or return on a daily basis).

For ycur information, enclosed is a graphical distribution of the population within fiva miles of the site.

b.

Data should be by day, beginning with the initial incident data and continuing thrcugh closing of the incident period.

c.

Due to the many factors involved, precise measure is not necessary, and accuracy to a factor of 2 is considered adequate.
