LIQUID DISCliARCES B ACKC2CC'm My understanding is. hat the licensee's current procedures require prior notification to IE. efore any liquid discharges.
This includes:
1.
Discharges of the '4aste Evaporator Cendensate Test Tank to the River.
2.
Discharges of the Turbine ?uilding Su=p and the condensate Polishing Su=p to the T4TS.
(Ihe I'4TS and T4RS discharge almost continueusly.)

There is censiderable public interest in our inspection pro 3raa (control) of the liquid effluent area.
'Jith the change in cur in-plant EP organization, new is a good time to formalize screwhat cur procedures for routine inspection coverage including independent measure:nents in this area.
ACTICN REOUIRED 1.
Review our existing in-plant instructions to ensure that cur inspectic i in the liquid effluent area is essentially censistent with our normal MC requirements but is conducted en a weekly basis, i.e.,
record review, data and ccmputation review, control sonitor settings, adherence to release limits, etc.
2.
Records should continue to be kept of all licensee discharges.
3.

The Mobile Lab presently counts every fourth DiFS and DiTS grabI sample.
Maintain records of these NRC analyses and also a ce=parison with the licensee's results.
