AMENDMENT TO THE REQUEST OF THE PENNSYLVANIA PUBLIC UTILITY COMMISSION FOR A HEARING AND PETITION FOR LEAVE TO INTERVENE The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission ("Com-mission") through its attorneys, hereby amends its " Request for Hearing and Petition for Leave to Intervene" in the above captioned matter as follows:
- 1. Subparagraph Number (1) of the wherefore clause shall be stricken.
- 2. Subparagraph Numbe- (2) of the wherefore clause shall be stricken.
- 3. Subparagraphs (1) and (2) shall be amended to read as follows:
(1) Grant petitioner's petition for leave to intervene.

- uclear Regulatory Cc= mission that an extended period of cold shut down for Beaver Valley I shall be necessary in order to make safety related mod-ifications (c) the Nuclear Regulatory Commission Staff determination vis-a-vis the shut down at Beaver Valley No. 1 is not forthcoming within a reasonable period of time."
WHEREFORE, the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission respectfully requests that the Nuclear Regulatory Commission permit the above amendment to its Request for Hearing and Petition for Leave to Intervene filed April 2, 1979 and further requests that the Nuclear Regulatory Commission grant its request for hearing and petition for leave to intervene as amended.
