KANKAKEE MANUFACTURING REQUEST FOR APPROVAL OF CB&I's QUALITY ASSURANCE PROGRAM AS MEETING THE REQUIREMENTS OF 10CFR71.51 DATED JUNE 21, 1978.
NRC LICENSE NUMBER 12-05639-01.
We have received your letter dated April 13, 1979 requesting addi-tional information concerning responsibilities of the various posi-tions referenced in the application.
After reviewing the original application, we have revised the program for clarification purposes and resubmitting to you requesting approval.
Under Para. 1. Organization, Para. 2. Quality Assurance Program, Para. 3. Docume.'.t Control, Para. 5. Inspection, Test, and Operating Status, and Para. 6. Quality Assurance Records, we have deleted the word " Protection" and inserted the word " Safety".
Therefore, the sections now refer to a Radiation Safety Officer and an Assistant Radiation Safety Officer.
The Radiation Protection Officer and his Assistant have corporate level responsibilities and serve only as Technical Authorities with regards to implementation of the Q.A. Program.
Their home office is located in Houston, Texas.

The Radiation Safety Officer has the overall responsibility for the Administration of the Program at the Kankakee Manufacturing Facilities.
