'Ihe ACRS Subcommittee on Spent Fuel Storage will hold a meeting on

February 23, 1979 in Room 1046, 1717 H St., N.W., Washington, DC 20555, to continue its review of the NRC proposed rule on Licensing Require-ments for the Storage of Spent Fuel in an Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installatic,n (ISFSI).
In accordance with the procedures outlined in the Federal Register on October 4,1978 (43 FR 45926), oral or written statements may be presented i
by members of the public, recordings.will be permitted only during those g.
E portions of the meeting when a transcrip. is being kept, and questions may

b'e asked only by members of the Subcommittee, its consultants, and Staff.
Persons desiring to make oral statements should notify the Designated Federal Employee as far in advance as practicable so that appropriate
~
arrangements can be made to allow the necessary time during the meeting for such statements.
Ihe agenda for subject meeting shall be as follows:

n Friday, February 23, 1979 8:30 a.m. until the conclusion of business.,
'Ihe Subcommittee may meet in Executive Session,- with any of its consultants who may be present, to explore and exchange their pre-liminary opinions regarding matters which should be considered dur'ing the meeting and to formulate a reprt and recommendations to the full Comnittee.

At the conclusion of the Executive Session, the Subcommittee will s
hear presentations by and hold discussions with representatives of the
. NRC Staff, and their consultants, pertinent to this review.
'Ihe Subcom-mittee may then caucus to determine whether the matters identified in the initial session have been adequately covered and whether the project is ready for review by the full Committee.
In addition, it may be necessary for the Subcommittee to hold one or more L.
closed sessions to permit discussion of provisions for the ptiysical security
.of licensed nuclear facilities of this type.
I have determined, in accordance 3
with Subsection 10(d) of Public Law 92-463, that, should such sessions be required, it is necessary to close these sessions, (5 U.S.C. 552b(c) (4)).
Ebrther information regarding topics to be discussed, whether the meeting g
has been cancelled or rescheduled, the Chairman's ruling on requests for the opportunity to present oral statements and the time allotted therefor can be obtained by a prepaid telephone call to the Designated Federal Dnployee for this meeting, Mr. Elpidio G.
