Dear General Gates:
I want to extend my thanks and deepest appreciation for the time and attention you took to assure that my staff and I were afforded a most informative visit to NTS. We covered a great deal of ground, literally and figuratively, under a tight schedule thanks to your efforts.
Please thank Bob Nelson and Bruce Church for taking time to fill me in on your waste programs, and a particular thanks to Bob for mast.: ring that beast of transport in which he shuttled us.
Unfortunately, we missed Troy while he was in Washington the week after our visit, but I am dropping him a note to thank him for not only outlining the NEST program but his kind efforts to see that our visit was the success it was.
I look forward to another opportunity to visit the Nevada Operations Office and NTS, particularly to see the progress you are making in waste repository projects and to have another chance to exchange views in the course ahead.
