By our letter of November 16, 1978, Georgia Power Company provided the Commission with a procedure for "Shutdeun from Outside Control Room" to be used to bring the reactor to cold shutdown in the event of a fire in the cabic spreading room.
Georgia Power Company hereby amends eur previous letter to state that the above procedure f or Unit 1 is an interim procedure.
A design change will be implemented for Unit 1 which will make the procedure for shutdown from outside the control room similar to cha t used on Unit 2.
This design will use disconnect switches where necessary to isolate motor control centers and switch gear from spurious signal-in the event of a postulated cabic spreading roem fire.
We expect design modifications will be complete prior to the end of our 1979 refueling outage.
