503/556-3713 Ext. 234 SM MARY OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE OPERATION:
The month began and ended with the plant at full power having operated continuously throughout the month. On February 1, during rod movement verification tests, Control Bank A, Group 1 failed to move due to a bad phase regulation card for stationary coils.
The card was replaced and the problem was corrected.
MAJOR SAFETY-RELATED MAINTENANCE: Work continued on the installation of new (13.3" center) spent fuel racks. Work continued on improvement modifi-cations to the plant security and fire systems.
The "A" residual heat removal pump seals were replaced.
LICENSE CRANGES: Amendment 36, LCR-16, LCA-44, incorporates a change to the surveillance test requirements for the auxiliary feedwater pump discharge pressure and clarifies the Control Room emergency ventilation preheater testing.
Amendment 37, LCR-77-03, LCA-33, incorporates a change to Technical Specifi-cations for the applicability of snubbers and pipe restraints and their testing requirements.
Amendment 38, LCR-78-10, LCA-47, incorporates the revised Security Plan into the plant 11.ense.
MISCELLANEOUS: On February 2, it was determined that 37 of the 58 flux mapping system thimble tubes had developed crud blockages that made insertion of the movable fission detector impossible. Only detectors C and E paths were consistently usable. The blocked thimbles were cleaned out with a brass wire brush and 36 of the 37 blocked thimbles were returned to service.
The installation of an additional air compressor for plant instrument and service air requirements was completed.
The "B" steam generator primary-to-secondary leakage continued at the small rate of 1.5 gallons per day.
