Dear Sir:
I am writing in reply to your letter of 20 November 1973 cencerning the results of Inspection 78-01 by Mr. P. Jerman.
'n'i th rega rd to the violations, in order -
A) The user not named on our current license has beer. included on a reapolication for a combined radioisotope license filed at the beginning of the month.
B) and C) below.
- 0) Copies of Form NRC 3 " Notice to 'moloyees" have been made and are being distributed at user locations throughout the campus.
In addition to these specific actions, and with regard to items 3 and C, we have entered into negotiatiens with the Environmental Health and Safety Division of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst to arrange the merger of some or all of calibration, lean testing, monitoring, and record keeping activities of Amherst College with the similar activities of the radiation safety section there. We have ecmoleted ereliminary ciscussions, on-site ins:ection, and listing of detailed service requirements, and are currently awaiting concrete estimates.
