We are pleased to reply to your letter dated flovember 57, 1978, with which you enclosed a letter dated October 20,1978, from Mr. E. Earle Rugg, Jr.
In order for a firm to possess and use radioactive materials for research purposes, the firm needs to have a license issued by the Nuclear Regulatory Coranission. Enclosed are copies of the application forms, pertinent regulations, and a guide for preparation of an application for use of small quantities of radioactive materials. An application for a license '
for possession and use of byproduct material for research and development must be accompanied by a $190.00 license application fee as specified in Category 7.K. in Section 170.31 of 10 CFR Part 170.
