Ladies and Gentlemen:
Southern Nuclear Operating Company (SNC), the licensee for Vogtle Electric Generating Plant (VEGP) Units 3 and 4, provides this submittal in accordance with License Condition 2.D(12)(d) of the combined licenses for VEGP Units 3 and 4, Numbers NPF-91 and NPF-92, respectively.
The VEGP Unit 3 license condition requires SNC to submit to the Director of Office of New Reactors (NRO), or the Director's designee, in writing, a fully developed set of plant-specific emergency action levels (EALs) for VEGP Unit 3 in accordance with the criteria defined in Amendment No. 77. The EALs shall have been discussed and agreed upon with State and local officials.
The VEGP Unit 4 license condition requires SNC to submit to the Director of NRO, or the Director's designee, in writing, a fully developed set of plant-specific EALs for VEGP Unit 4 in accordance with the criteria defined in Amendment No. 76. The EALs shall have been discussed and agreed upon with State and local officials.
The purpose of this letter is to submit the fully developed set of plant-specific EALs in accordance with License Condition 2.D(12)(d) of the combined licenses for VEGP Units 3 and 4. The EALs are provided in the enclosure to this letter.
