RIVER BEND STAT;II - UNIT 1 DOCKET NO. 50-458 Gulf States verbally notified the Region IV office of a potential 10CFR 50.55(e) deficiency on Novmber 5,1979, and followed up with a written report subnitted Deceber 3,1979. The report was in regard to the acceptability of the in-process nondestructive testing (NDE) perfonned by Chicago Bridge and Iron-Nuclear (CBIN) during the fabrication of the primary shield wall. Analysis and evaluation of the identified deficiency has been cmpleted. The results indicate that all weld areas and NDE perfonmd are acceptable. Based on the results of this analysis, it is Gulf States' position that the deficiency identified above is not reportable under 10 CFR 50.55(e) and that this letter constitutes t.% final report on this iten.
