Gentlemen:
The following is provided in response to Item 2 of IE Bulletin 79-13, Revision 2:
1.
Arkansas Nuclear One - Unit I utilizes three different feedwater systems.
Auxiliary and main feedwater feed the steam generators through shared spargers while the emergency feedwater feeds through spargers used by that system only.
2.
We will not perform the inspections required by Item 2(b) for the following reasons.
In all cases where auxiliary feedwater injection is used it is preheated.
Emergency feedwater is not used to maintain steam generator level during any normal operating mode.
3.
The inspections required by Item 2(c) were performed as part of the effort required for IE Bulletins 79-02 and 79-14.
Any discrepancies found will be reported as required by them.
