s ERRATA SHEET REGARDING AMENDMENT OF MATERIALS LICENSE DUKE POWER COMPANY SPENT FUEL STORAGE OF OCONEE SPENT FUEL AT MCGUIRE NUCLEAR STATION - UNIT 1 DOCXET NO. 70-2623 SAFETY EVALUATION REPORT 1.

At page 4-1, last sentence of first paragraph, "The regu.utions require that the dose rate at the outside surface of the package (including thermal shield) not exceed 200 mrem /hr and at two meters (six feet) from the package not exceed 10 mrem /hr."

should read "The regulations require, for an exclusive use, open vehicle, the dose rate not exceed 10 mrem /hr at any point 2 meters (six feet) from the vertical planes projected from the outer edges of the vehicle."

Last line on page 4-1 and first line on page 4-2, the sentence

" Neutron dose expected to be significant." should read " Neutron dose would not be expected to be significant."

At page 30, the first line, "The Department of Transportation limits the dose rate for radioactive materials during transportation (49 CFR 173.393(j), which encompasses the proposed shipment) to 200 mrem /hr at any external surface of the package and 10 mrem /hr at 2 meters (6 ft) from the external surface of the package." should read "The Department of Transportation limits the dose rate for radioactive materials during transportation (49 CFR 173.393(j), which encompasses the proposed shipment) to 10 mrem /hr at 2 meters (6 ft) from vertical planes projected from the outer edges of the vehicle.

At page 30, the paragraph 5.3.1, third sentence reads " Based on 00T regulations, radiation levels 2 m (6 'ft) from the package will not exceed 10 mrem /hr." shot !d read " Based on 00T regulations, radiation levels 2 m (6 ft) from the vehicle will not exceed 10 mrem /hr.
