COMANCHE PEAK STEAM ELECTRIC STATION This memorandum is to clac4fy y memorandum to you dated July 26, 1985.
The primary purpose of my memorandum was ta confirm that the ACRS had received NUREG-0797 - Comanche Peak Supplement Safety Evaluation Reports (SSERs) 7 through 11 and to comply with ASLB Chairman P. B. Bloch's request that the staff provide these supplements to the ACRS for consideration.
These supplements provide the results of the staff's evaluation and resolution of technical concerns and allegations primarily in the areas of construction practices and qua'ity control inspection.
For the staffs purposes, I do not believe that the discussions contained in these supplements are of the nature that your committee typically reviews in detail and do not believe these reports warrant an ACRS review.
Accordingly, this is to clarify that the staf f is not requesting that the ACRS review these documents. The NRC staff will, of cour e, followup on the matters raised in these SSERs to assure that appropriate corrective action is taken.
Should your consideration of these documents lead you to believe these reports contain information your committee should review, please advise me.
