River Bend Station Refer to: RIV Docket Nos. 50-h58/IE Bulletin 78-12 50-h59/IE Bulletin 78-12 Our reactor vendor has informed us that the time required to collect the data requested in Bulletin 78-12 vill exceed the 60 days allowed for response. We have also been informed that GE has made contact with the URC Staff concerning the possibility of a generic approach to the identification of atypical veld material in reactor vessels, and that an answer has not yet been received.

We are avaiting further developments in this area before proceeding.

In any case, we vill update you concernin6 our progress toward supplying the needed data as more information becomes available.

As we develop a schedule, we vill provide it also.
