Response to ACRS's Letter of September 26, 2019, on the Safety Evaluation for 10X10 SVEA Fuel Critical Power Correlation D5 for OPTIMA3
Dear Chairman Riccardella:
During the 6661h meeting of the Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards (ACRS or the Committee), held on September 4-6, 2019, the ACRS completed its review of topical report WCAP-17794-P, Revision 0, and WCAP-17794-NP, Revision 0, "10x10 SVEA Fuel Critical Power Experiments and New CPR [Critical Power Ratio] Correlation: D5 for SVEA-96 Optima3," and the associated final safety evaluation (SE) prepared by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff.
In a letter to me dated September 26, 2019, the Committee provided its conclusion and recommendation that the final SE should be issued. The NRC staff appreciates the Committee's thorough review of the topical report and the NRC staff's final SE.
