P. O. Box 150 Morris, Illinois August 28, 1959 Mr. E. R. Fleury Assistant Chief, Licensing Branch Division of Licensing and Regulation United States Atomic Energy Commission Washington 25, D. C.

Dear Mr. Fleury:

Drs. Biles and Carouthers were at the Dresden site cn August 26 and 27 During their visit, we submitted to them the following additional material for tneir use in preparing the operator's examinations:

Volume 2 - Steam Generation Chapter V - Fuel Handling (Procedure only)

Volume 5 - Electrical control and Instrumentation Chapter V - Control and Instrumentation Systems (Rough Draft)

Volume 6 Operating Procedures Chapter III - A Refueling Operation C - Control Rod Replacement Chapter IV - B Well Water System K - Process Radiation Instrumentation

~

Appendix - Valve Check Lists.

Drs. Biles and Carouthers indicated that, with these submissions, no further submittal of written material was essential to preparation of the examinations. They did, how-ever, request that we complete certain instrumentation installations prior to the date of examination, as follows:

1) Install at least one in-core ion chamber anplifier.
2) Complete the calibration marking on the turbine control selsyn dials.

We assured them that these two items would be completed prior to the date of examinat-ions. They proposed that this date continue to be nominally September 8, but that in fact, travel arrangements might delay the st, art of examinations until the morning of September 9.

We agre=d that this slight revision of schedule was agreeable. 800811'O 5 7/
