Dear Mr. Hudson:
I appreciate your thoughtful letter of March 16 responding to my letter of March 5 concerning the Special Review Group report on the Reactor Safety Study and the Commission's subsequent policy statement and press release.
I agree that it would be useful to discuss the matters raised in your letter, including the NRC staff's March 13 order shutting down five rr. lear power plants until piping questions are resolved.
i am enclos-ing a copy of the recent testimony of Harold Denton, Director of our Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation, on the piping matter.
If you will let us know when your subcomittee plans to be in Washington, I will be pleased to talk with the group and to have a meeting arranged with Mr. Denton's staff to explore your concerns in more detail.
'j. Sincerely, j
