March 31, 1978 FREEDOM OF INFORMATION Nuclear Regulatory Commission ACT REQUEST.
Washington, D.C.

~77 Gentlemen:
It is my understanding that the nuclear reactor at the Three Mile Island Plant could have been and still could be shut down by flooding the plant with Boron.
I also understand that this would have prevented the need to release radioactivity to the air.
I request that this be done now.
I also request that you provide me with any information you have which would justify this. previous failure to use the Boron.
A permanent 1 closing of this reactor would not be justification.
As this matter is of f
vital public interest, I request that any copying fees be waived.
Sin erely,
~
