Grand Gulf Nuclear Station File 0260/0498/15525/15526 Interim Report No. 4 For PRD No. 77/13 Safety Relief Valve Control System AECM-79/14 On October 7, 1977, Mississippi Power 6 1.ight Company reported a po-tential deficiency to your office regarding tha Safety Relief Valve Con-trol System for Grand Gulf Nuclear Station.
S" ace that time, we have filed three interim reports with various estimates when our final report will be available.
We are following the progress G.

is making to resolve this generic deficiency with the NRC and believe that no final date for resolu-tion can be determined at this time.
In discussions with G. E. and the NRC, we learned that the matter will be resolved as expeditiously as possible and certainly before October, 1980, which is the date we anticipate for issuance of the Grand Gulf Unit 1 Opera-ting License. Additionally, any specific changes required at the Grand Gulf Nuclear Station based on the resolution of the generic deficiency will be re-flected in the Grand Gulf FSAR.
Fe will issue our final report on this matter upon completion of the above events.
