ESSAR A meeting was held on January 23, 1979 between representatives of both the staff and Ebasco to discuss the ESSAR review schedule. A list of meeting attendees is attached.
The meeting began with a discussion of the approved ESSAR review schedule.
We told Ebasco that currently there are no known delays. We told them that some of the alapsed time difference from what they previously had seen was due to the review which includes three NSSS vendors.
Ebasco indicated that they were updating their ESSAR document to include changes in regulatory requirements which had taken place since the submission of their project. They are presently using January 1,1979 as the Regulatory Requirements Cutoff Date (RRC00). They asked if the staff would accept this.
We responded that normally the RRCOD is established by issuance of Q-2's, which is presently scheduled for September 1979.
Ebasco requested that we make every effort to review the three referenced NSSS designs in parallel. However, they did not want the whole project delayed because of review concerns for only one NSSS design.
