This refers to your letter dated May 30, 1978, which requested a revision to Certificate of Compliance No. 4986 concerning the transport of fuel rods.
Inresponse to your request, Revision 3 to the certificate was issued on August 7,1978.
As requested in our June 19, 1978 letter, you paid a minor amendment fee of $690, per fee Category 11C of Section 170.31 of Part 170, copy enclosed.
In reviewing your request and Revision 3, we discovered that your May 30 request for revision should have been subject to a minor amendment fee in fee Category llB instead of 11C.
Fee Category llB specifies a minor amendment fee of $2,800, as opposed to the 5690 minor amendment fee in fee Category llc. Therefore, an additional fee of
$2,110 is due for your May 30, 1978 request for certificate revision.
Payment of the 52,110 should be made to the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission and mailed to the attention of Douglas Weiss, License Fee 14nagement Branch, Washington, DC 20555.
The approval fee in Category llB is based on the actual cost required to process an application.
In accordance with Footnote 1(d) and 4 of B170.31, we have reviewed the manpower expenditures required for the review of your "evision request, and the actual costs to process your request exceeded $2,800; however, the fee to be assessed for a minor amendment in fee Category llB is limited to $2,800.
