c. Ic. MILI.Ex semon vecc passioenT January 24, 1979 Fort St. Vrain Unit No. 1 P-79020 Mr. Karl V. Seyfrit, Director Region IV, U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Office of Inspection and Enforcement 611 Ryan Plaza Drive Suite 1000 Arlington, Texas 76012 Attn:

Mr. C. L. Madsen, Chief Reactor Operations & Nuclear Support Branch Gentlemen:

Subject:

Annual Requalification Exams In your letter of January 5,1979, you requested additional information as to how we propose to ensure that weak areas noted on individual annual requalifi-cation examinations will receive emphasis on the subsequent annual lecture cycle.

In addition, you re' quested information as to how we intend to correlate the examination categories with lecture topics. We propose to do the following:

1)

Evaluate individual performance for the annual examination in each category and document.

2)

During the annual management requalification review prescribed by ADM-25, the Review Panel will review those sections of each individual's exam to determine if the subsequent annual lectures provide adequate training or that lectures need to be rescheduled or added. Documentation as to which lecture rotation will provide any needed or additional training for each category, will be retained.

3) A list will be available to reference which NRC examination categories apply to individual lecture topics. Due to the inter-relationship of these categories, the lecture tcpics often cover several categories.

We hope this provides the necessary information you requested.

If you have any other questions in this matter, we would be pleased to discuss them with you.
