Dear Ms. Strain:
This is in response to your letter dated April 2,1979 in which you requested, pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, a copy of all documents relating to environmental impacts and health effects resulting from nuclear tests conducted in connection with the Project Plowshare Program during the 1960's and early 1970's.
In response to your request, the documents, listed on the appendix, are enclosed.
The enclosed memorandum and order for Civil Actions C-1702, C-1712 and C-1722 issued by The U.S. District Court for The District of Colorado indicates that an Open Files System was initiated October 23, 1967 in three cities, one of which was Denver, Colorado.
In addition, certain data and final project reports were to be provided to the Colorado State Public Health Department.
Additional information may be available from the state agency and the Department of Energy.
