Docket No. 50-466

Dear Ms. Hooker:

Reference is made to your mailgram dated April 2, 1979, in which you requested information regarding limited appearance statements in this proceeding.

First, you should be aware that the prehearing conference which was scheduled for April 18, 1979, in this matter was cancelled by the Licensing Board as a result of the Appeal Board's decision in ALAB-535, a copy of which you should have received by now.

The Chaiman of the Licensing Board, Mr. Wol'), has previously decided that limited appearance statements will be heard at the beginning of the evidentiary hearing, which has not been scheduled as yet.

Should you desire to make a limited appearance statement at that time, I would suggest that you write to Chairman Wolfe, indicating your desire to do so.

In order that Chairman Wolfe will have an early indication regarding how n.any persons wish to make limited appearance statements, you should write to him as soon as you determine that you would like~ to make such a presentation.

Lastly, if you know of one or more organizations which wish to make limited appearance statements, it seems to me that the most orderly way to proceed would be for each organization involved to designate a spokesman for the group to make the presentation on its behalf. Once again, the organization (s) involved should write to Chairman Wolfe as soon as they have formulated a desire to make a limitet appearance statement in order to fomally com-municate that desire to him.
